Round straightener

In the LSAW (Longitudinally Submerged Arc Welded) pipe making production line, the round straightener, also known as a pipe straightening machine, is a critical component used to straighten the welded pipes after the welding and cooling processes. Straightening the pipes is essential to ensure they meet the required dimensional tolerances and have a uniform shape, which is crucial for various applications in industries such as oil and gas, construction, and infrastructure.

Key features and functions of the round straightener in the LSAW pipe making production line include:

1. Pipe Straightening Mechanism: The round straightener is equipped with a mechanism designed to straighten the welded pipes effectively. This mechanism may include sets of rolls or hydraulic cylinders that apply controlled pressure to the pipe’s outer surface, correcting any deviations from a straight line.

2. Precision Straightening: The round straightener employs precision straightening techniques to ensure the pipes are straightened with accuracy and uniformity. The machine is capable of handling pipes of different diameters and wall thicknesses, providing flexibility in the production line.

3. Pipe Feeding and Clamping: The pipes are fed into the round straightener, where they are securely clamped to prevent any movement during the straightening process.

4. Control System: The round straightener is equipped with a control system that allows operators to set and adjust straightening parameters, such as pressure, speed, and alignment, to achieve precise and uniform straightening results.

5. Cooling System: Depending on the material and specific requirements, the round straightener may include a cooling system to maintain the pipes at the optimal temperature during the straightening process.

6. Inspection: The straightened pipes are inspected to ensure they meet the required dimensional tolerances and quality standards.

How the Straightening Process Works in the LSAW Pipe Making Production Line:

The main components are composed of a fixed extra-long workbench, a gantry-type mobile frame, an upper mold, a movable V-shaped bracket, a hydraulic system, an electrical system, etc.
1. There are two sets of variable-position V-shaped lower dies on the workbench, which can be mechanically adjusted left and right. There are 2 sets of lifting rotating rollers and 3 sets of lifting conveying rollers in the middle of the workbench.
2. The main pressure head is installed on the gantry. The indenter can straighten all bars 360°. Make the straightening bar meet its requirements.
3. The main hydraulic system is located at the top of the frame and controls the pressure of the main pressure head. The auxiliary hydraulic system is located on the side of the workbench and controls the rotation and lifting of the conveying roller to meet the requirements of 360″ rotation. The rotation and left and right transportation of the bar material.
4. This machine has inching, single-shot and pressure-holding functions, which can meet the requirements of workpiece straightening. 5. The rotating roller of the straightening machine rises to hold up the workpiece and rotates to the highest straightening point to align with the 12 o’clock position. At the same time, the four sets of conveyor tubes all rise to a certain height below the rotating silver tube.
6. The rotating roller of the straightening machine falls down and the workpiece is carried on the conveying roller. The conveyor roller rotates to convey the part covering the straightening high point between the two V-shaped lower dies. When the conveying roller falls, the workpiece is placed on the 2 V-shaped lower dies.
7. Move the gantry to align the indenter with the high point of the workpiece. The gantry is then locked. The main cylinder of the straightening machine pulls down the upper die to straighten the workpiece. The workpiece is gradually straightened until it meets the requirements.
8. The main cylinder of the straightening machine returns to the drawing upper die.
9. Repeat the process until the total length of the workpiece is straightened approximately 360°
10. Measure the straightness of the workpiece by observing or marking. If the linearity exceeds the standard, the workpiece will be straightened again until it meets the requirements
11. After straightening, the rotating roller of the straightening machine rises to hold up the workpiece. At the same time, the five sets of conveying rollers all rise to a certain height below the rotating rollers.
12. The rotating roller of the straightening machine descends and places the workpiece on the conveying roller.

In summary, the round straightener in the LSAW pipe making production line is a crucial component in ensuring the pipes are straightened to meet the required dimensional tolerances and quality standards. It employs precision straightening techniques to provide accurate and uniform straightening results. The straightening process is an essential step in producing high-quality LSAW pipes suitable for various applications in industries that demand precise and reliable steel pipes.
